Early Bird Draw for the Arnprior Rotary Cash Calendar – Nov 24th 2018
Early Bird Draw for the Arnprior Rotary Cash Calendar took place at the Nick Smith Centre on November 24th at the ‘One-of-a-Kind Christmas Craft-Bake & Business Fair as hosted by Arnprior Braeside McNab Seniors at Home. Phyllis Doherty-Hereford, Board Chair ABMSH, performed the draw while president Arnprior Rotary Dave Palmer assists and announces. What luck, the winner of the $500.00 ticket (#0629) was Lucien Cloutier, as seen in the background – as she was a Vendor at the show and made her purchase of the calendar that day. Other winners included: M. Sullivan #0751 $300.00 and Donna Gunn #0391 $200.00. Door Prizes for the Craft Fair were won by: Paula McGowan, Audrey Myers, Carrol Haywood, Gert Murphy, Carol Timmons, Heather Turcotte, Pat Felhaver, Jack Cunnington, Rylie Murchie, Dawn Finn and Wendy Eitzen. Thank you to all Vendors, Volunteers, Staff of ABMSH and Local Shoppers Shopping Local, all was very much appreciated as $3700 was raised for your local Community Support Services Agency in support of all the programs offered for the Elderly and those with special needs. Breakfast N’ Learn – November 28 with Barb Fortier, Campbell Monument
Barb Fortier, Arnprior Branch Manager, Campbell Monument, 45A Elgin Street West, Arnprior was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, November 28 Breakfast N’ Learn held at Riverside Grill & Bar. Those attending were educated on the business of selecting and the designing of personalized monuments and how Campbell Monument takes pride in making the experience comfortable and comforting for all. Original Trivia Night, East Side Mario’s – Wednesday, October 24, 2018
We hosted our second ‘Original Trivia Night with a Touch of Arnprior’ on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 with plenty of laughs and good times. Thank you to the teams who joined and supported this agency fundraiser. Thank you to volunteers, Elizabeth Briggs and Donna and Garry Dowd for assisting, Todd Fletcher for donating two Sen’s tickets that were auctioned off, to those who bid on the Silent Auction in particular Tonya White and to every person who participated, to the staff of East Side Mario’s for making everyone feel at home and thank you to those who made individual donations. A total of $922.00 was raised in support of the many programs offered by your Community Support Services Agency. Fall Charity Yard Sale, Saturday, September 15, 2018
Our Annual Fall Charity Yard Sale was held Saturday, September 15th in our parking lot on McGonigal Street West. Thank you to everyone who shopped, donated and supported this fundraiser. Without the help of our dedicated volunteers events such as this would not be possible. First Annual Memorial Live Butterfly Release – August 19, 2018
It was a true community supported event, our 1st Annual Memorial Live Butterfly Release held Sunday, August 19th in Robert Simpson Park. Dennis Harrington welcomes all along with special guests, Vicki Brittle, Andre Pilon, Gina Pilon, Lisa Smith, Phyllis Doherty-Hereford, Rev. Leo Hughes, Cathy Brown and Eldon Smith.

Arnprior Wheels Car Show Barbeque – August 6, 2018
It was a beautiful day for all who attended and volunteered at Arnprior Wheels – Car – Truck and Bike Show held Monday, August 6th on the grounds of East Side Mario’s with our Agency providing the refreshments with a Charity Barbeque

19 th Annual Seniors’ Barbeque Robert Simpson Park – July 19, 2018
The 294 guests where treated to hamburgers, fries (donated by various local chip wagons), cold drink (supplied by Arnprior Villa) and ice-cream cups (supplied by Carp Commons Retirement Village)
It takes the help of plenty volunteers to serve 294 hamburgers with all the trimmings. Thanks to, left, Nikki Rumbelow, Kathleen Bender, Liz Nadon, Barb Shea, Donna O’Grady and Nancy Strong, all volunteers with ABMSH.

Canada Day Barbeque – July 1, 2018
Canada Day was a “Hot” one but it didn’t stop the volunteers of Seniors at Home from getting into the fun as they hosted the Canada Day Barbeque held at East Side Mario’s on July 1st which also included live entertainment, beer garden and a “Shine & Show”. Annual Father’s Day Charity Car Show – June 16, 2018
200 plus burgers and hotdogs were served by our Volunteers at the Father’s Day Charity Car show and BBQ held Saturday, June 16th at Red Pine Bay, Braeside. Under the big blue tent, agency volunteers Bruce Haywood, left, Heather Campbell, Dennis Harrington, Barb Shea and Janet Michelson.
It was a perfect view and location for such a great charity event; charity car show and barbeque as hosted by Brian Gunn and his team for Prostate Cancer Research and our team for Seniors at Home.

Free Dentistry Day – June 4, 2018
[email protected] hosted a FREE Dentistry Day on Saturday, June 4th with 69 residents receiving a total of $25,000’s worth of free dental work. ABMSH was the beneficiary of donations from the Free Barbeque offered during the morning of the event. A total of $800.00 was raised and donated to Seniors at Home. Folks were greeted by both volunteers of ABMSH and [email protected] with local musician Doug Smith entertaining.

Annual Spring Yard Sale – May 12, 2018
Our Annual Spring Yard Sale, held Saturday, May 12, was a huge success, due to both weather and support from the community. A total of $2300.00 was raised thanks to a very special $1,000.00 donated by RBC’s ‘Day of Service Grant for Community Service and Support’ as presented by employees and family members of RBC (all in blue shirts), left to right, Sara Lecuyer, daughter Becca Welsh, Catherine Metcalfe, Tracey Crane, Jackie Laughlin, Community Manager RBC and Austin Welsh (son of Sara Lecuyer). Jackie presented the funds to Kathleen Bender (in red) volunteer on behalf of ABMSH.

Shred-It Day Arnprior – April 21, 2018
The very successful Shred-It Day Arnprior was held Saturday, April 21st giving the community a chance to rid of valuable, but no longer required papers. Shred-it Ottawa provided the professional service along with the agencies’ many volunteers. Pancake Feast – Island View – April 11, 2018
The Annual Pancake Feast was hosted by Island View Retirement Residences on Wednesday, April 11 and with thanks to Andre Pilon (seated left) of Pilon Family Funeral Home, everyone was able to enjoy their pancakes with locally made maple syrup. Our annual Joint Fundraiser with Regional Heath Foundation took place Friday, March 23 at Nick Smith Centre. At the end of the night the team “The Girls and The Guy” rained. The newest program offered by Seniors at Home; Kathleen’s Creations’, a craft workshop instructed by Kathleen Bender, Agency Volunteer which is held the third Wednesday of each month from 1-3pm at 106 McGonigal St. West. Free to those age 55 and over. Must register by the Monday prior to the Wednesday date. Classes are presently limited to eight members only – if full you will be added to a waiting list and called by Tuesday.
