“We can’t always do great things, but we can do small things with great love”
Mother Theresa

Make a Difference in the life of a senior:  Volunteers are the reason our Agency has been successful since opening in 1980 and the reason we are able to continue to offer seniors, and those with disabilities or special needs of any age, a variety of programs and services designed to encourage independent living and enhance quality of life. ABMSH Agency continues to grow, and so does the need for volunteers. Please refer to this link: Seniors Volunteering Brochure  to see all of the volunteer opportunities at Seniors at Home Program Inc.

Although we welcome volunteers in all areas, sometimes there is a greater need for volunteers for certain programs or services. Currently we are in great need of volunteers in the following areas:

  • URGENT and Immediate need of Volunteer Drivers for Out of Town Medical Transportation – please contact Nikki Rumbelow 613-623-7981 or [email protected]

  • Volunteer Drivers for the delivery of Hot Meals on Wheels
Volunteers are required to deliver hot meals to designated clients one day a week from 11:00 am to 12 noon. These meals are prepared by the kitchen staff of The Grove nursing home. Drivers are required to pick-up at The Grove and deliver to the individual homes.
  • Friendly Visiting Dedicated volunteers are linked one-on-one with clients who request for someone to visit them, in their home, on a regular basis. The connection established between our volunteers and clients, during these visits, alleviates loneliness, provides social interaction, and builds friendships.
  •  Grocery Shopping Drivers Volunteers assist with grocery deliveries one day per week, (approximately 2 hours) to area residents who because of frailty, recent surgery or without family support are unable to do their own shopping.
